A simple name for a somewhat complex game. It is based on Mao, also a card game. There are quite a few resources available on Mao, and I suggest people interested in playing Jao look at these first. After reading up on Mao, interested players should make up a few rules for addition is subsequent games. Since it may take from a few minutes to a few days to create and test rules, depending on how interested you are in your rules, it is suggested that you create your rules before playing. See the Jao Custom Rule Creation Page for details if you already know Java, the language Jao is written in, or see the Jao Rule Generator Page to understand how to create more simple rules without needing some background in Java. New players are strongly encouraged to play, because as a long time rulesmaster, I understand that it's really great to play with new players.
